It’s feels good to give back – a year in review

By Pillinger

The 2016/2017 financial year has been productive at Pillinger, with amazing sales, new team members and we feel very fortunate to be able to do what we do and love every day. We don’t take any of this lightly and give back to the community at every opportunity… Here are the highlights of our community endeavours over the last year.

Brad Pillinger, overwhelmed by people’s generosity, raised over $45,000 for the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal 2017. This money will go towards the many invaluable community services that The Salvation Army offer including family welfare assistance, homeless shelters, refuges for women and children in crisis, emergency and disaster relief, and disability programs to name those of most appeal to us.

Brad will also be taking part in The Real Estate Sleep Out for the second year running to raise money and awareness for Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets, a charity that helps homeless youth in Australia. This is such an important issue with frightening statistics as over 44,000 young people in Australia sleep rough on any given night. Brad will be joining many others from the real estate industry by sleeping out on Bondi Beach on a winter’s night to try for a few hours to put himself in a homeless kid’s shoes.  The Real Estate Sleep out is happening on 24th July 2017. Sport is one of life’s ultimate endeavours, with rugby being Brad’s forte. His Sydney Uni days were filled playing first-grade rugby with the likes of Peter FitzSimons and Nick Farr-Jones. Pillinger regularly donates to Sydney University Rugby Club and the Easts Junior Rugby programs that includes the Easts u16s recently state champions and East Rugby Wallaroos a leading Junior Rugby Club. They were major sponsor at this year’s Scots College Rugby 7’s tournament which took place on April 1st. Twelve teams battled it out to win the Pillinger Cup which was taken out this year by St Patrick’s College, Wellingon, a great achievement.

Pillinger are also proud supporters of Eastern Suburbs Little Athletics, St Catherine’s School and commits to coaching one of the junior Easts cricket sides each summer.
